An early Warren McArthur Corporation desk, manufactured during the first years of Rome, NY
production (1933–1934).
This compact yet substantial writing desk highlights McArthur’s tubular aluminum frame with ribbed joiners, original black lacquered wood top, and two drawers, a typewriter storage shelf and distinctive stepped aluminum pulls.
The original Rome NY label is present, confirming its provenance and date of manufacture.
The writing surface shows wear.
This desk is an outstanding example of McArthur’s transition from experimental Los Angeles designs to his standard Rome production.
