Description
Angelo Lelli for Arredoluce rare modernist "Pinguino" floor lamp with large egg-shaped opaline glass diffuser resting on a black enameled metal stem ending on faceted tripod base with gilt lacquer brass details and rectangular black enameled metal finial, Italy, circa 1958. This architectural floor lamp has exquisite details throughout including its simple yet complex geometric design - a contrast between its curvaceous ovoid-shaped shade and linear and angular stem, base and finial. Its bold design is evident also in its striking contrasting colors of white, black and gold. Truly unique and original in its design, this very rare chic midcentury floor lamp is a fine example of Arredoluce's small yet highly influential Italian lighting company works which became one of the most innovative and important post-war lighting manufacturers in Italy.
Registered in the Arredoluce Archives, Italy as number 3922984. -
