Description
Charming large 19th c. portrait print of Napoleon Bonaparte in its original custom frame, with gilt-incised crest with initial "N". This image is after the famous portrait by Paul Delaroche "Napoleon in His Study" painted in 1838. The large size of this print is unusual and striking, and the tinted pink lips are perhaps a bit amusing. This piece descended in the family of the original owner, having been purchased in France in the 19th c. The paper has some foxing and discoloration showing gentle signs of its age. Please note: this item is currently stored off-site and can be viewed at the NYDC Gallery by request.
