Description
This elegant pair of table lamps was designed by Michael Bang in the mid-1970s and produced by the Holmegaard glassworks in Odense, Denmark. The model is named Fleur and was made in several color variations—this version in royal cobalt blue is among the rarest. The bases were produced by Holmegaard for Royal Copenhagen and retain their original manufacturer’s labels on the underside.
The bases are crafted from mouth-blown glass, reflecting Holmegaard’s renowned artisanal quality and glassmaking tradition. The form was designed to evoke a flower—referencing the model name Fleur (French for "flower")—with curving, petal-like elements rising into a slender stem that supports the shade. Matte steel bulb fittings and renewed, cylindrical lampshades in smooth ivory fabric complete the design.
The pair is in very good original condition with newly replaced shades. Please note that one of the bases is approximately 1.5 cm (about 0.6 inches) taller than the other. However, this is not noticeable unless the lamps are placed directly next to each other. The height difference can also be compensated for by adjusting the positioning of the lampshades.
Dimensions: Total height including shade: 40 cm / 15.75 inch Height of the base only: 35.5 cm / 13.98 inch and 37 cm / 14.57 inch Diameter of the shade: 30 cm / 11.81 inch Diameter of the base: 18 cm / 7.09 inch -
