Description
Pair of Italian wall sconces made in the 1950s, combining brass and hand-decorated ceramic. Each lamp has a circular brass wall plate (Ø 10 cm / 3.9 in) and an adjustable brass arm supporting a double-cone ceramic shade. The ceramics are hand-painted in polychrome enamels with abstract human figures and geometric motifs, in a style reminiscent of Italian Futurism and post-Cubist graphic design. The shades are signed Amatanti – Urbino, a known ceramics district in central Italy active in mid-century artisan production.
The sconces are fitted with standard E14 sockets (110–240 V), usable without modification in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. The brass shows a uniform aged patina; the ceramic surfaces retain their original glaze and color. Both lights are fully orientable through their jointed arms. -
