Pair of Italian wall sconces from the 1950s, combining minimalist geometry and refined craftsmanship. Each lamp features a semi-spherical shade composed of two elements: a dark-patinated steel dome and a white opaline glass diffuser that emits a soft, warm light when illuminated.
The shades are mounted on slender brass arms with adjustable joints, allowing several angular positions as shown in the photographs. The design is intended for downward or angled lighting, offering directional versatility while preserving visual balance.
The brass wall plates, 10 cm (3.93 in) in diameter, are fixed with two visible brass fasteners and display an even, natural patina consistent with age. Equipped with E14 sockets, these sconces are suitable for use in both European and U.S. electrical systems (with appropriate bulbs).
A fine example of 1950s Italian lighting where proportion, simplicity, and function merge into a pure modern form.
