Description
This rare floor lamp was designed by Charles Dudouyt and produced in France in the late 1940s. Crafted from solid oak, the piece exemplifies Dudouyt’s distinctive approach to furniture and lighting, characterized by expressive carved wood and well-balanced proportions.
The lamp features a sculptural turned oak stem with repeating faceted diamond carvings, creating a rhythmic, architectural vertical profile. The depth and precision of the carving emphasize the natural grain of the wood and give the column a pronounced tactile quality. The base is circular and carved with concentric ring detailing. The lamp is topped with a new cylindrical shade executed in ivory 100% Loro Piana linen, which softens the overall appearance and complements the warm tone of the oak.
The lamp is in very good condition, with a natural patina consistent with age and use. The shade and wiring have been renewed. Currently fitted with a standard E26/E27 bulb socket and wired for 220V. -
