Description
Pair of Italian wall sconces from the 1950s, crafted in brass with opaline glass diffusers. The design is sculptural and minimal, characterized by a compact wall structure and a softly organic glass form that projects gently from the wall.
Each light is composed of a small faceted brass wall mount that supports a tapered brass cup. From this element emerges the opaline glass diffuser, shaped as an elongated teardrop or flame-like form, slightly inclined upward. The contrast between the warm brass and the smooth matte surface of the glass creates a restrained yet elegant mid-century composition. The simple geometry and compact proportions make these sconces suitable for a variety of interiors, from mid-century spaces to more contemporary settings.
The opaline glass provides a soft and even diffusion of light, while the brass elements add warmth and depth through their naturally aged finish.
Wall mount dimensions: height 5 cm (approx. 2 in), width 4 cm (approx. 1.6 in).
Fitted with standard E14 sockets.
Condition
Very good vintage condition. The brass surfaces display a natural patina with light oxidation, tonal variations, and small surface marks consistent with age and careful use. The opaline glass diffusers are well preserved, with only minimal signs of wear typical of vintage pieces. The fixtures are not UL listed, as they are original vintage lights, but they are fitted with standard E14 sockets and can be used in Europe as well as in the USA and Canada with compatible bulbs. -
