Description
This striking floor lamp was produced by Maison Baguès in France in the 1940s.
Crafted in brass, the lamp stands on an elegant tripod base with gracefully curved legs. The central column and legs are all adorned with a naturalistic ornamentation that can be interpreted as both foliate and scale-like in form, creating a richly textured surface with a strong sculptural presence. This neoclassical-inspired piece is made of solid brass with a naturally developed patina and is of notably substantial quality.
The cylindrical shade is a custom design made in a pale cream Colefax & Fowler silk, allowing for a pleasant and soft light distribution.
The lamp is in good original condition with a natural patina to the brass. It has recently been rewired (220V). The shade has been renewed.
Dimensions:
Total Height including shade 174 cm / 68.5 in
Base Height excluding shade 156 cm / 61.4 in
Shade Diameter 42.5 cm / 16.7 in
Base Dimensions: 40x35 cm / 15.7 x 13.8 in -
