This exceptional table lamp was designed by Harald Notini in the mid 1920s and produced by Arvid Böhlmark’s Lampfabrik in Sweden. The lamp is model 6834 and is pictured in Böhlmark’s 1926 catalogue. This variant features a striking marbled glass shade produced by Pukebergs Glasbruk, which was owned by Böhlmarks during this period, reflecting the close collaboration between the two firms.
The lamp is executed with a hand-hammered copper base and stem, displaying Notini’s characteristic attention to material and form. The gently twisted stem rises from a flared circular base, showcasing the warm patina and subtle surface texture of the hammered copper.
The domed glass shade is richly marbled in soft pink and apricot tones with green inclusions, creating a luminous, organic effect when illuminated. The shade is supported by the original metal frame, which has been preserved, and the lamp retains a harmonious balance between the artisanal copperwork and the expressive glass.
The lamp is in good, original condition with a natural patina on the copper and some minor signs of wear consistent with age and use. A minor non-disturbing dent in the rim of the circular foot.
Harald Notini is regarded as one of the leading figures of Swedish Grace and early Scandinavian modern lighting design. His work for Böhlmarks is distinguished by its refined proportions, handcrafted finishes, and sensitivity to materials, qualities that are clearly expressed in this rare and decorative table lamp.
