This rare table lamp was produced in Denmark in the 1950s and exemplifies the understated elegance of mid-century Danish design.
The sculptural form is defined by a circular brass base accented with a raised secondary ring, from which a slender tubular stem rises. Executed entirely in brass, the lamp has developed a rich, naturally aged patina that enhances its warmth and depth. The original brass bulb fitting and shade holder have been preserved.
The shade has been newly crafted in an ivory-colored Armani Casa tussah silk. This exceptional fabric is woven from hand-spun yarns on a handloom, resulting in an uneven, tactile texture with a multidirectional sheen. Woven pick by pick, the silk creates a subtle undulating rhythm across the surface, allowing light to reveal gentle gradients and luminous tonal variations.
The lamp remains in very good original condition, with professionally updated wiring and a completely new shade. It is currently fitted with 220V European wiring.
