Description
An iconic 1960s Brazilian modern dining table designed by Jean Gillon for Celina Decorações, crafted in richly figured Brazilian rosewood.
The circular top is distinguished by its softly rounded edge and deep apron, giving the table a substantial architectural presence while maintaining a clean, elegant profile. Below, a sculptural central pedestal extends into four intersecting feet, creating a dynamic crossed-leg base that is visually striking from every angle while offering excellent stability and generous legroom.
The rosewood veneer has aged beautifully, developing a warm, nuanced patina that accentuates its expressive grain, natural tonal variation, and reddish-brown depth. A restored satin-matte finish lends the surface a restrained luster while preserving the character and authenticity of the wood.
Compact yet versatile, the table is ideally proportioned for use as a small dining table, breakfast table, game table, or a statement center table in an entrance foyer. Its design feels distinctly modern and effortlessly cool, balancing the bold geometry of the pedestal base with the timeless refinement of a round top.
A sophisticated and highly functional example of Jean Gillon’s work and the innovative spirit of Brazilian modern design. -
