Description
This rare pair of table lamps was produced by Bitossi in Italy in the 1960s. The Swedish lighting firm Bergboms imported the ceramic Bitossi bases, assembled them into lamps, and retailed them in Sweden. Each lamp retains its original "Made in Italy" label and model number "515" sticker.
The design features a sculptural stoneware base with a striking spherical mid-section finished in a deep, rich green glaze. The contrast between the glossy, textured glaze and the matte natural ceramic creates an elegant and tactile expression. The cylindrical lamp shades have been renewed in a smooth, neutral ivory fabric, complementing the form without distracting from the ceramic work.
The lamps are in very good vintage condition, with new shades. Currently wired for 220V European use with standard E26/E27 bulb fittings.
