De Nieuwe Honsel Amsterdam School Pendant Lamp, circa 1925

irca 1925, combining richly coloured enamelled glass with an elaborate bronze mounting.
Amber and yellow tones are accented by red scroll motifs and flowing linear decoration. Curved metal ribs define the shade’s sculptural silhouette, while a band of spiral ornaments and a decorative textile fringe complete the composition. When illuminated, the glass reveals a warm interplay of colour and pattern.

The lamp offers a strong focal point above a dining table, in an entrance hall or within a carefully curated interior. Its expressive form will appeal to collectors of Amsterdam School design and early twentieth-century Dutch lighting.

This very lamp is illustrated on page 40, in the upper photograph of collector Richard Hopman’s living room, in Wonen in de Amsterdamse School: Ontwerpen voor het interieur 1910–1930. Subsequently acquired by Laseur Antique and now offered for sale, it has a published connection to a private collection devoted to Amsterdam School design.
