Description
A Dutch Art Deco square pendant lamp by De Nieuwe Honsel, circa 1929, featuring enamelled glass, a wooden frame and decorative textile fringe.
The enamelled glass panels combine bold geometric blocks of red and yellow with intricate, fluid patterns reminiscent of ink dropped into water, spreading into delicate swirls and branching forms. These flowing motifs contrast with the precise geometry of the composition. Dark wooden borders define the panels, while the fringe softens the lower edge. When illuminated, the glass reveals a warm interplay of colour and pattern.
Suspended from decorative cords with dark ornamental beads, the lamp has a distinctive architectural presence. Its 50 cm width makes it a striking centrepiece for a dining room or carefully curated interior. The hanging height is adjustable to suit the setting. -
