Description
This very rare floor lamp was designed by Severin Hansen Jr. and produced by Haslev Møbelsnedkeri, in Denmark in the 1950s. The model was called 'Bridge' and is one of the most iconic floor lamp designs of the Danish Modern era.
The striking design is marked by the organic, sculptural shape of the curved stem and the slender, three legged base. The entire base is executed in stained beech wood with brass details. The original pleated, hand folded acrylic shade was manufactured by Le Klint.
The lamp is in good, completely original condition. The wood with a natural patina and minor signs of wear consistent with age and use. The pleated lamp shade with minor imperfections consistent with age and use. Currently wired with a 220V European plug.
Severin Hansen Jr was a celebrated Danish designer, best known for his elegant and minimalist furniture and lighting of the 1950s and 1960s. He collaborated with several renowned Danish manufacturers, including Haslev Møbelsnedkeri, a company founded in the early 1950s by Knud Windahl Pedersen and Henry Aunbirk, with Hansen himself as co-owner. -
