French 19th Century Mahogany Center Table with Pedestal Base
-
Description
A uniquely styled pedestal base is showcased in this fantastic marble top mahogany center table, made in France circa 1880. A large, round piece of black fossil marble rests atop the pedestal base. It is wonderfully patinated, with some light surface scratches visible. It has been dished and had a chamfered edge. The tapered standard has a turned mahogany base, done in a fluted, “beehive” form, giving the table its individualized style. A tripod base stabilizes the table and has been finished in beautiful mahogany veneer.
