Pair of Italian Midcentury Blue-Green Glass Mirrors, Max Ingrand & Fontana Arte
-
Description
2 Italian Hand-Crafted and Mold Blown Mid-century Modern Mirrors Attributed to Max Ingrand and Fontana Arte, Italy, circa 1960. These works of mirror art are composed of exquisite Fontana Arte translucent blue green glass mold blown in a shield form, and then, cantilevered over a mirrored central plate. The ephemeral quality of the outer glass frame is sublime and the translucent cantilevered frame gives the feeling of being surrounded by the mirror. (or perhaps inside the mirror). The hand made glass is an exquisite blue-green color and the frame is delicately hand cut and beveled around the edges. These are more than mirrors, they are works of mirror art. Dimensions: H 31.75" x W 23.5 x D 2". Priced as a Pair.
Reference: These are similar to Fontana Arte model. 2085. Please see: Quaderni Fontana Arte, No.6 p. 156. for similar concept, materials and coloration.
