Doria Big Ball Space Age table lamp, 1970

Description
A rare Big Ball table lamp with an extra-large glass shade. The hand-blown glass diffuser is flawless and features the characteristic bubbles that further diffuse the light. The lamp consists of four rods with chrome-plated bulbs at the top, as well as three glass bulbs of varying heights that create additional lighting effects. The chrome-plated aluminum base displays a patina commensurate with its age. Due to its height, the lamp can also be used as a floor lamp.

The German lighting manufacturer Doria was founded in 1945 and specialized in the production of high-quality and exceptional lighting fixtures. In the 1960s, they produced what was then the world's largest lamp. The Doria Big Ball lamp was designed in the 1970s.
