Description
An Amsterdam School bowl pendant lamp by De Nieuwe Honsel, circa 1925, combining richly enamelled glass with a sculptural bronze framework.
The broad glass bowl is decorated with bold geometric motifs in orange, red and yellow. Curved bronze ribs follow its contours, bringing structure and rhythm to the colourful composition. When illuminated, the decoration takes on a warm, luminous depth.
Measuring 56 cm in diameter, the lamp has a substantial presence suited to a dining room, entrance hall or carefully curated interior. The hanging height is adjustable to suit the ceiling height and desired placement. Its expressive combination of glass, colour and metalwork will appeal to collectors of Amsterdam School design and early twentieth-century Dutch lighting. -
