Charming Mid-Century Model 61047 Table Lamp by Idman, Perfect for a Child’s Room

A small and delightful Mid-Century table lamp, model 61047, manufactured by Idman in Finland. Its rounded cream-colored body and brass fittings recall the form of a traditional oil or kerosene lamp, although it was designed from the outset as an electric light.

With its compact proportions and nostalgic character, the lamp works beautifully on a bedside table, small side table or bookshelf. It would be especially charming in a child’s room, where its storybook-like appearance can add warmth to the space and help spark the imagination.

The lamp remains in its original vintage condition, apart from the fabric shade, which is a later replacement. It shows normal wear consistent with age and use and is stamped “Idman” underneath.

Idman was one of Finland’s leading lighting manufacturers during the 20th century and played an important role in the development of Finnish modern lighting. The company produced designs by several notable Finnish designers and was known for combining practical construction with high-quality materials and thoughtful design.
