Description
Remarkable late 19th century oakwood vanity table with candlesticks from the so-called "historicism" period in Austria. This exceptional "table" vanity table is an absolutely unique piece which has been elaborately handcrafted as a comission work for a Viennese nobleman as a christmas gift for his wife back in the days. Not a simple vanity table - much more, this is a piece of art. The round oakwood base, which provides a secret compartment that can be opened by twisting it sideways, impresses with amazing looking pattern created by inlayed poplar and burr walnut. A highlight on this vanity table are definitely the delicate, extraordinary made micro-inlays in different colors and patterns that can be found all over this outstanding vanity table. Additional adjustable candlesticks on both sides of the mirror finalize the fantastic look of this late 19th century vanity table.
