Description
Large ceiling or wall light in varnished steel sheet, brass, and curved molded glass, produced by FontanaArte, designed by Max Ingrand, mid-1950s.
Brass and glass—the hallmark combination of FontanaArte’s finest creations, a brand that significantly shaped 20th-century decorative style. Drawing from the rich tradition of Venetian glassmaking, Max Ingrand masterfully elevates the allure of these materials, delicate yet timeless in appearance, through a ceiling fixture illuminated by eight bulbs.
The dome, crafted from delicate curved molded glass, seems as if it were sculpted by the gentle ebb and flow of the Venetian Lagoon’s tides. It features an opalescent pane with deep and intriguing hues. The brass frame serves as a striking contrast, emphasizing the softness of the chosen form. Whether mounted on the ceiling or wall, this chandelier stands as a statement piece in any setting. It is presented in its original condition with all parts intact and fully functional.
