Description
A pair of French Louis XVI style painted bergères à oreilles from circa 1900 with carved acanthus leaves and fluted legs. This exquisite pair of French Louis XVI style painted bergères à oreilles chairs from circa 1900 feature an antique off-white painted finish with tasteful distressing, enhancing their antique charm. Each chair is adorned with intricate carvings, including acanthus leaves and fluted legs, reflecting the classical Louis XVI style.
The top of the crest showcases a lovely tied ribbon carving, adding a touch of delicate sophistication. Along the frame, carved rais-de-cœurs motifs further enhance the decorative appeal, while scrolling knuckles on the arms and twisted ribbons on the skirt provide additional layers of intricate detailing. The combination of these elements creates a harmonious and visually captivating design.
The current upholstery is used and in a distressed shape and these bergères are ready for new upholstery that can be customized to suit your interior decor. The seat dimensions are 20.5 inches deep and 15.5 inches high, ensuring comfort and support.
Perfect for a variety of settings, these bergères à oreilles can be placed in a living room, bedroom, or study, where they will serve as elegant accent pieces. Their graceful lines and historical significance make them suitable for both traditional and contemporary interiors. Whether flanking a fireplace, positioned beside a window, or used as statement chairs in a reading nook, these Louis XVI style bergères will bring a touch of French sophistication and classical beauty to your home.
The combination of intricate carvings, distressed finish, and elegant form ensures these chairs will be cherished additions, enhancing your decor with their timeless appeal and artisanal excellence. -
