Description
A Swedish Rococo period wood "Mora" clock from circa 1770 with hand-painted swag and ribbon motifs, Roman numerals on the face and carved base. This Swedish Rococo period "Mora" clock, dating back to circa 1770, is a masterpiece of traditional craftsmanship and artistry. Its wooden frame with its gorgeous patina of weathered aqua teal soft colors, is gracefully adorned with faint hand-painted swag and ribbon motifs, exuding an air of elegance and sophistication that is characteristic of the Rococo period. The clock's face, featuring Roman numerals, is secured behind a glass panel.
The carved base adds to its stately appearance, providing stability while contributing to the overall aesthetic appeal with intricate detailing that captures the eye. Standing tall, this Mora clock could easily become the centerpiece of a living room, dining area, or hallway, where its presence would add a touch of timeless beauty and an aura of antiquity.
In a contemporary or traditional home setting, this clock would bridge the gap between past and present. Its unique hand-painted details and historical significance make it a conversation starter and a cherished heirloom, symbolizing the enduring appeal of Swedish design and the elegance of the Rococo period. -
