Midgard lamps were widely used at the Bauhaus school in Dessau, appearing in the studios and residences of masters like Walter Gropius and Josef Albers. Midgard is a historic German lighting company with a deep connection to the Bauhaus movement, which greatly influenced its functional and minimalist designs.
The relationship between Midgard and the Bauhaus was a symbiotic one, built on a shared ethos of marrying functionality with precise, machine-like aesthetics. Midgard designs adhered to Bauhaus principles of modernism, focusing on utility, simplicity, and superior craftsmanship. -
