French Pair of 19th Century Arched Gilt Mirrors
-
Description
Dimensions: 48 ⅛” H x 31” W x 2” D
A lovely pair of gilt mirrors from 19th century France, their strong proportions of the arch-top frames are emphasized by red bole clay peeking through the shimmering gold. Restrained molding is smooth and rounded, given variation and texture by patina to the gilding, which confirms their historic age. Dark spots of foxing are present in the glass of only one mirror, however the condition of the more recent plate would indicate that it’s not a new replacement. Hung together or separately this antique mirror pair has the scale to make a big impact in any room. Please view the detailed images to see more. Sold as a pair only. -
