A French framed oil on canvas floral painting from the 19th century, depicting roses. Born in France during the 19th century, this exquisite oil on canvas painting features a delicate bouquet of pink roses falling on a tabletop from a tipped over wicker basket. Perfectly organized, the composition leads our eye throughout the painting while the neutral tones of the background highlight the softness of the roses' color. Signed M. Cheneau lower right and set inside a carved gilded frame with scrolls, this 19th century French oil on canvas painting will bring a touch of elegance to any living room, dining room or bedroom, perhaps hung above a commode or side table.
