Description
A French Louis XVI period gray painted and gilded trumeau mirror from circa 1790 with carved torch and quiver motif. This exquisite French Louis XVI period trumeau mirror, dating back to circa 1790, is a masterpiece of classic design and romantic symbolism. The frame is painted in a timeless French gray, and accented with delicate gilded carvings. The upper panel features a beautifully crafted ribbon-tied burning torch and quiver, evoking themes of love and heroism, which are emblematic of the period.
The mirror is framed by fine giltwood carvings, including rais-de-cœurs and petite beads, adding an element of refined elegance. The combination of gray paint and gold leaf highlights creates a striking contrast, making this piece a focal point in any room.
This trumeau mirror would be perfectly placed above a mantelpiece in a living room, in a hallway for a dramatic entrance, or even in a bedroom, where its romantic motifs can be fully appreciated. Its blend of functionality and decorative art makes it not only a reflective surface but also a stunning wall decor, infusing any space with the grace and style of the French Louis XVI era. -
